About Maria
An Italian wedding is not a studio. Everything has to hold outdoors.
Maria works with makeup, hair and personal styling as one system. The brief is never to change a face, but to hold it together: bone structure, skin texture, the dress, the light on a Tuscan terrace at four in the afternoon, and how a bride wants to feel when she turns around.

Travel & logistics
What travel costs, stated plainly
Italian mountain roads, ZTL zones and August traffic are real constraints, not excuses. Maria arrives the evening before for any venue where the morning drive would be a risk.

Questions brides actually ask
How far in advance should I book?
Twelve to eighteen months for a Saturday between May and September. Off-season and weekday dates are usually available with three to six months' notice.
I am not in Italy — can we still do a trial?
Yes. Most destination brides do the trial by video call: you send photographs in daylight, we agree the direction and the exact products, and the written plan is followed on the day. An in-person trial can be added whenever you arrive.
Will the makeup survive August in Puglia?
That is what the products are chosen for. Long-wear bases, waterproof formulas around the eyes and a setting routine built for heat and humidity, plus a touch-up kit you keep.
Can you get my bridesmaids and mothers ready too?
Yes, and it is usually the smoother option — one visual language, one schedule. Tell us how many people and by what time everyone must be ready.
What does the deposit cover, and is it refundable?
A 30% retainer confirms the date and is non-refundable, which is standard across the Italian wedding market. The balance is due before the wedding day.
Do you charge for travel to my venue?
Not within 40 km of Milan or Lake Como. Beyond that, €0.45 per kilometre plus tolls and parking — quoted as a single figure before you pay anything.
